Safe water education lesson for 10 schools across nation

Kathmandu, December 22:

Students in 10 selected schools across the country are set to get human value based water and sanitation education to ease the water and sanitation problem.

Ministry of Education, supported by UN-HABITAT and Environment Conservation Camp, is providing intensive training on proper use of water, human health and sanitation to students and teachers in the selected schools.

Based on the outcome of the pilot testing, the government will gradually adopt the education in the school curriculum. In two of the schools, separate ‘water classes’ would be managed to give overall information on water. UN-HABITAT said intensive discussion with the stakeholders and school teachers was going on, including training to teachers on the modality of instruction.
