Sanskrit examinees clash with cops
KATHMANDU: Students attending the intermediate level exams at Durbar High School, Ranipokhari, today clashed with security personnel while they were trying to intimidate invigilator who took action against Pradeep Neupane, an examinee, for misbehaving during the exam.
Binod Tripathy, another examinee told The Himalayan Times that the clash had ensued when security personnel tried to interfere while they were discussing with the invigilator after the exam on why he had taken action against Neupane.
The students hurled stones at security personnel and obstructed traffic on the Ranipokhari road section for a couple of hours this morning. At least a dozen students sustained minor injuries while some eight students were arrested and taken to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Durbarmarg.
Separately, four out of nine students boycotted the Ka Aaichik Ka Itihas Puran, in the same centre, alleging that more than 50 per cent questions were out of their course. Chundamani Koirala, who attended the exam, said some students had refused to take the exam as 60 marks out of 100 were not from their course book.
