SC stay on tempos
KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Sunday proceeded with the interim order that was issued on November 3 against the decision of the government to phase-out the LPG-run tempos from the Kathmandu Valley. The apex court ordered the government authorities not to go ahead with its decision to phase-out the gas-operated tempos from the Valley. A division bench of Justices Top Bahadur Magar and Kalyan Shrestha issued the order from today’s hearing. Challenging the government decision, the chairman of the Self-employment and Transport Entrepreneurs, Ram Kumar Blon, had filed a writ petition seeking the apex court intervention. The petitioner asserted that the government decision has infringed the rights of the gas-operated tempo entrepreneurs, who could not manage with an alternative over tempos.
