KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) assessed the progress of panel hearing system in providing prompt justice. The system was recently introduced in the SC.

Of the total 908 cases, 264 cases were settled during 17-day period of the panel hearing. The apex court introduced the panel hearing in order to dispose cases pending since the last five years. Altogether 1,469 cases have been pending in the SC.

"The result is positive and we are enthusiastic that this system will help deliver prompt justice," said Hemanta Rawal, assistant spokesperson, SC.
