School shifted without permission

Kathmandu, May 4

Kapan-based Daffodil Boarding School has been relocated to Naya Pati, Gokarna without seeking approval from the concerned government authorities.

As per the Education Regulations, no school can be relocated without approval from the government authorities.

Suprabhat Bhandari, president, Guardians Association of Nepal, said, “It is shocking to find that the school was shifted to another location without approval from the authorities.”

District Education Officer of Kathmandu was also unaware of it.

Hari Prasad Dahal, principal, DPS, said they were in the process of informing the District Education Office but had already taken consent from parents to relocate the school.

“We have also informed the school inspector from DEO and we moved the school as per his suggestion. We are in the process of informing the DEO officials about it formally,” he added.

He also said that the school was constructing prefab classrooms in Gokarna keeping in view the safety of students.
