Search on to trace Bibek: Police

Kathmandu, September 16 :

Frantic search is on to trace eight-year-old Bibek Sharma Luintel, son of Kedar Luintel of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-35, who was abducted a week ago.

The whereabouts of the abducted child is yet to be traced despite investigation by the Valley Crime Investigation Branch.

Police Inspector Sanjaya Thapa said the Police Headquarters has formed an investigation team and it is carrying out necessary actions.

He said several persons have been arrested on the basis of the statements of the abductors. He however, denied to elaborate about the case because investigation was on the progress.

More than 300 people from Koteshwar area yesterday staged a sit-in at the District Police Office, Hanumandhoka, demanding action against Indian nationals Wakil Ansari, Bhikhari Ansari and Nepali national Pateri Lama, a resident of Anamnagar, who were involved in abducting the boy.

Wakil and Bhikhari had kidnapped the boy on September 9. Some seven persons, including the boy’s father, were injured in the baton charge by the police during the peaceful sit-in.
