Senior Advocate Sharma passes away

KATHMANDU: Prominent advocate Ganesh Raj Sharma has passed away this afternoon.

He was 79 years old.

According to Sharma's niece Sarita Upadyaya, he was suffering from dementia since three years, and breathed his last at his residence in Dhobidhara, Kathmandu.

Final rites of Sharma were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today.

He is survived by his wife and three daughters.

An expert of constitutional law, late Sharma was legal counsel of the then first people-elected Prime Minister Bisweswor Prasad (BP) Koirala.

Besides, his contribution to collect content and bring out the late Koirala's two biographical books 'Jail Journal' and 'Atmabritanta' is substantial.
