KATHMANDU: The government has appointed journalist Opendra Sharma as the General Manager of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti.

The Cabinet meeting held in Baluwatar today appointed Sharma to the post, reported Rastriya Samachar Samiti quoting Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki.

The post had remained vacant since January 19, 2017.

Meanwhile, the government also appointed Sharad Bikram Rana to the post of Executive Director of the Trade and Export Promotion Centre.

The meeting has given approval to the Finance Ministry to prepare the memorandum of understanding for forwarding the Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project as per the 'engineering procurement construction model'.
