UAE Foreign Minister arriving today to inaugurate UAE embassy
KATHMANDU: At an invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa, a delegation led by his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is arriving Kathmandu today via a special aircraft for an official visit.
Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah will hold talks with DPM Thapa, stated a press release.
After the official talks, Minister Abdullah is also scheduled to inaugurate the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Lazimpat, Kathmandu at 3:30 pm.
The statement further said that Sheikh Abdullah will call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli separately, today itself.
The UAE has appointed Saeed Hamdan Al Naqei as Ambassador to Nepal with the opening of its embassy. Al Naqei is yet to present his credentials to President Bhandari.
Nepal and the UAE established the diplomatic relations on 22 January 1977.
