Shootout at Samakhushi
Kathmandu, September 2:
Buishnu Lama was injured when two gangs exchanged fire at Samakhushi area last evening, police said.
One of the two groups, comprising five persons, entered the Show Girl Dance Restaurant at Samakhushi at around 9:15 pm and began breaking tables, bottles and windowpanes, police said, adding that some customers were injured in the act. The group got out of the restaurant 10 minutes later. Chasing the earlier group, another armed group came on seven motorcycles. A fight ensued between the groups at Samakhushichock, police quoted eyewitness as saying. “We heard three rounds of fire,” Dipak Shahi, of Lazimpat, said. The police, however, didn’t recover any used catridges.
“We found Bishnu Lama with bullet injuries later. He has been admitted to the Bir Hospital,” a police official at the Kathmandu District Police Office said.
Police officials at the Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB), Hanumandhoka, claimed to have identified the groups, but declined to name them.
