Shram editor Parajuli freed

Kathmandu, January 9:
Executive editor of the Shram vernacular weekly, Sitaram Parajuli, was released by the security forces this evening after a 13-day detention.
Parajuli refused to talk to journalists regarding the details of his condition during the detention. His short comment was “I was freed safely.”
After his release, Parajuli, issuing a press release, has thanked the media, human rights organisations, civil society and intellectuals for their help in securing his safe release.
He was taken away by plainclothes security forces from New Baneswor 13 days ago.
