Sindhupalchok man held for fraud

KATHMANDU: Police arrested a man for his alleged involvement in a fraud case from Sundhara on Tuesday.

According to the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Sagar Kumar Bhandari (35) of Pedpu in Sindhupalchok district, was arrested by a special team of police deployed from the Division.

According to a complaint lodged by the victim, Ashok Bahadur Malla of Lalitpur, he had paid Rs 3 million to Bhandari as an advance to buy a house priced at Rs 6 million in Gothatar of Kathmandu.

But later, Bhandari reportedly sold the house to some other buyer and fled with the money, police added.

Bhandari also took property worth around Rs 2.8 million from a hardware store of Bikram Maharjan under the pretence of selling him the same house.

Police have sent Bhandari to the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, for further action.
