Kathmandu, July 9:

Panels led by Anil Kumar Sinha and Indra Kharel are contesting the election of the Supreme Court Bar Association to be held on Saturday. While Sinha leads the democratic panel, Kharel leads the progressive panel.

Both the candidates have said they would work to uphold the rule of law, independence of judiciary and professionalism in the changed political scenario. “I’ll work to uphold the judicial independence,” Sinha said “We have to preserve the independence of the judiciary in this tough period,” Kharel said.
