Sisdole folk to let KMC dump Valley garbage

Kathmandu, June 26:

The agitating Sisdole locals have agreed to allow the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to dump garbage in the Sisdole Landfill Site till the next budget is announced.

The locals made this decision after a secretary-level meeting held in the City Hall.

A member of Okharpauwa Sanitary Landfill Site’s Main Coordination Committee, Jit Bahadur Balami, said the locals there would not obstruct dumping of the garbage in the landfill site, as the government authorities had promised to meet their demands in the upcoming budget.

The committee’s director, Nabish Chandra Shrestha said they are hopeful that the government would fulfil the locals’ demands.

It was learnt that around ten days would require to clear the garbage left uncollected in the Valley.
