‘State authorities ignored Madhes issues’

Kathmandu, July 23

Sarbendra Nath Shukla of the Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party today said that they had not rejected the new constitution but had only raised concerns about some discriminatory provisions.

Taking part in the discussions on the no-trust motion filed against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in the legislature parliament today, he accused the Oli-led government of ignoring the issues raised by the Madhes-based parties.

Similarly, Laxman Lal Karna of Sadbhawana Party said the incumbent Prime Minister had no moral ground to remain in power after losing confidence of the House.

Stating that the CPN-Maoist Centre had played a significant role in bringing federalism and secularism in the country, he said his party was in favour of the no-trust motion moved by the party against Prime Minister KP Sharma OIi.

He also said his party supported the move as the Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Centre have expressed commitment to address the issues raised by Madhes-based parties.
