Statute by July end, claims Gachhadar

BIRATNAGAR: Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachhadar has said that a new constitution with the provision of eight Pradeshes based on inclusiveness and equality will be issued soon.

"CPN-UML will possibly lead a new government after promulgation of the new constitution."

Talking to the mediapersons at Biratnagar Airport today, leader Gachhadar added that the country will get the new constitution by end of July.

He claimed that that the recent 16-point agreement signed by four major political parties has paved a road for establishing the country as the federal democratic republic.

He added that CPN-UML will possibly lead a new government after promulgation of the new constitution as the Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has already announced that he would resign soon after the new statute delivery.

Chair Gachhadar said that major parties have already discussed distribution of major power positions including president, vice-president, speaker and deputy speaker as well.

The former Deputy Prime Minister pointed out the need of unity among all political parties for reconstruction of the quake-affected areas after formulation of the national consensus government.
