Students meet leaders of top parties
KATHMANDU: The agitating 13-students union today met with the top leaders of Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML to draw their attention to the Tribhuvan University (TU) fee hike row.
Talking to The Himalayan Times, Madhukar Khanal, central member Nepal Students Union said that they met CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal and NC's acting president Sushil Koirala. Student leader Khanal said the leaders were positive to their demand and had assured to talk to the TU officials regarding the fee hike. The students are meeting UCPN-M chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the students would display cartoons reflecting anomalies of TU in all constituent colleges tomorrow. As part of their protest programme, the students have announced to disrupt the TU assembly and 35th Convocation Day this week.
