Students padlock DEO
KATHMANDU: Students of Mahendra Ratna Campus, Tahachal padlocked the District Education Office - Kathmandu for an indefinite period, beginning today, demanding that the provision to allow students from other faculties to participate in teachers' teaching license exam be scrapped.
Talking to The Himalayan Times, Biraj Singh, a student said, "Though the education regulations does not allow students from other faculties to take teachers' teaching license exam, the government signed an agreement with teachers organisations earlier and allowed those in teaching profession to participate in the exam."
However, the provision should be scrapped this time and if anyone wanted to take the exam one should have completed one-year Bachelor's in Education at least, he added.
He further said that many were sitting for exams with fake experience letters so it should also be investigated.
The Teachers' Service Commission had recently announced for application for the license exam.
