Sujata bats for long life of coalition

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala today said the present government would not topple as claimed by UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda yesterday.

In an interview with Avenues Television in Singapore, DPM Koirala added the ruling coalition would further be strengthened in the coming days.

“The Maoist chairman did not even talk about toppling the government during his meeting with Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala here,” she

clarified.

She said Koirala and Dahal had agreed to solve all the problems by forming a high-level political mechanism.

The DPM urged the Maoists not to launch their third round of

agitation.

The DPM is in Singapore where she had gone with her father for the latter’s treatment.
