Supplementary exam results in a month: OCE
Kathmandu, August 8:
A total of 1,02,985 students are appearing for this year’s School Leaving Certificate (SLC) supplementary examination starting from August 18, according to the office of controller of examination (OCE).
According to Gajendra Lal Pradhan, controller of the OCE, the result would be published within a month so that the students could enroll for higher education in various campuses.
“Even though most of the campuses had already closed down the admission process for this academic year, the government has asked educational institutes to make special provision for the pass out students of supplementary examination,” said Pradhan. Students who have failed in two subjects are eligible for the supplementary examination.
Altogether, examinations for 28 subjects will be conducted. A total of 180 examination centres have been fixed for the examination. A majority of the students had failed in mathematics, science and English.
According to the OCE, of the total 294,216 students —- 225,032 regular and 69,184 exempted, had appeared in the SLC examinations. Among the regular students, the pass per cent is 46.51, which is significantly high in comparison to last year when 38.72 per cent of regular students had passed the test. This year the OCE had given grace marks up to five for the ‘deserving students’.
