KATHMANDU: Police on Friday arrested a suspected ornament thief allegedly involved in stealing gold ornaments in Kathmandu.

Police said the 35-year-old Bimala Pun from Myagdi Chok in Pokhara of Kaski district had stolen a 1.5-tola gold necklace from the Shalimar Jeweller's in Bishal Bazaar on Wednesday.

Pun, on Thursday, disguised herself as a potential customer and targeted ampther shop nearby, added police.

However, police apprehended her while she was on her mission.

Police seized a bracelet stolen from the Shalimar Jeweller's, a gold-plated braslet, a necklace and a chain from her possession.

Meanwhile, police said they are looking into the case.
