Talks held to end Sipradi deadlock

Kathmandu, December 9:

Representatives of the CPN (Maoist)-affiliated All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF) and mediator of the Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd (STPL) sat for talks today to sort out problems that have caused closure of the STPL. The parties termed the talks “positive”.

ANTUF vice-president Badri Bajgain said the STPL management took the demands raised by the CPN (Maoist)-affiliated All Nepal Auto-mechanics Workers’ Association (ANAWA) positively.

The management has sought some time for more homework, Bajgain said. “We will sit for talks tomorrow if they agree to reinstate the ousted workers.” STPL vice-president Shambhu Prasad Dahal said Rajan Lama and Dependra Regmi were expelled because their performance was below par.
