Tamsaling announces stir

KATHMANDU: Resenting that the proposed 14 states carved out by the State Restructuring and Distribution of State Power of the CA has fragmented them, Tamsaling Nepal National Party (TNNP) today announced a 'struggle plan' demanding united Tamsaling state.

Announcing the plan, TNNP president Parshuram Tamang said, “We feel compelled to wage the struggle to save the historical Tamsaling state from fragmentation.”

TNNP has called a strike in districts including Makwanpur, Chitwan and Dhading demanding that the CA delimits states on the basis of population without splitting the historic lands of the indigenous people.

The party has also demanded that the Sunkoshi and Narayani states be scrapped and states be carved out on the basis of new agreement.
