Kathmandu, January 5:

Secretary and two members of the Free Students’ Union (FSU) of Tri-Chandra Campus have refuted a news report regarding their alleged involvement in submitting fake examination forms to the Office of the Controller of Examination of the Tribhuvan University.

The three associated with the Nepal Students’ Union close to Nepali Congress criticised the news published in The Himilayan Times last Monday, which quoted FSU president Saroj Thapa as saying that they were involved in the irregularities.

Thapa is close to NSU affiliated to the Nepali Congress (Democratic). “The president’s claims were politically biased and the report defamed us,” stated a joint press statement signed by Prachanda Bikram Neupane ‘Guntu’, FSU secretary and members Bijay Ram Bhatta and Ujjwal Khatri.

The statement said the president’s comments were targeted to cause harm to their political career.
