KATHMANDU:Nepal Community Higher Secondary Teachers’ Union today announced a relay hunger strike from Thursday at Shanti Batika, Ratna Park.

Before announcing the protest at a corner meeting, a group of around 150 teachers had gheraoed the Ministry of Education for an hour.

Speaking at the programme, Pralhad Raj Gautam, secretary of the NCHSTU said, “The government has ignored our demands.

“The higher secondary teachers have been demanding the implementation of Chaitanya

Sharma Report and Technical Committee Report-2065 that ensure their rights and facilities.

Their demands include release of funds allocated for the teachers and the female coordinators working at the community higher secondary schools throughout the country.
