Telcom staff’s protest
Kathmandu, July 4:
The Telecom Employees Association of Nepal (TEAN) has demanded the government consider its decision to remove the association’s representative from the Telecom board.
“Sunil Kumar Pokhrel had been representing the employees in the board before the government ousted him after the expiry of his tenure,” a press release issued by the TEAN general secretary Gopal Dhakal said.
The union has served an ultimatum of 24-hours to the government to re-consider its decision. It has claimed that the decision was ‘undemocratic.’
“We will be forced to launch strong protest programmes if the government does not listen to our demand,” Dhakal said.
