Temporary teachers demand next amendment to Education Act

KATHMANDU: Temporary teachers have demanded another amendment to the Education Act claiming the eighth amendment enacted recently failed to address their problems.

A delegation representing them drew attention of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal over the issue while meeting the PM at his official residence in Kathamandu on Monday.

The delegation also demanded that the government ensure permanent status to temporary teachers through internal competition, provide grants and free medical treatments services and meet their other needs by re-amending the act.

During the meeting PM Dahal assured them to solve their problem by further consultation with stakeholders including the Minister and Secretary at the Ministry of Education.
