Temporary teachers’ examination postponed

Kathmandu, March 30

The examination of temporary teachers scheduled for April 6 was postponed until further notice today. This is the third time that the examination has been postponed.

Teachers Service Commission today issued a notice to inform about the postponement of the examination. Chief of TSC Tana Gautam informed that the new date for the examination had not been fixed yet.

“We were compelled to postpone the examination after receiving a letter from the Ministry of Education,” said Gautam.“Only 75 per cent temporary teachers were participating in the examination which may not fulfil the required quota for the vacant posts of teachers across the country. So the Ministry of Education decided to conduct both internal and open examinations of teachers at once,”he added.

TSC was preparing to conduct the examination on the basis of eighth amendment to the Education Act. “We had already completed the preparation for the exam but the ministry told us not to conduct the exam,” he said.
