Kathmandu, February 12:

The Tharu Students Society (TSS) has condemned the killing of Hari Lal Rana, a member of Tharu community, who was killed by the security forces on accusation of being a terrorist.

The government has misinformed and lied to the public saying that the security forces recovered fuse wires, a socket bomb and a detonator from Rana, the TSS said. “This lie proves that Rai was murdered intentionally,” stated a press statement issued by the TSS president Chandra Narayan Chaudhary.

“We demand home minister Thapa to take responsibility for the killing and call on him to resign immediately for this immoral act,” the statement said. Chaudhary also demanded compensation for Rana’s family.
