Thieves target unattended houses in Bhaktapur, Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Police reported three incidents of theft in Bhaktapur and Kathmandu districts on Friday and Saturday.

Property worth Rs 75,000 including gold jewellery and cash were stolen from a house of Ram Sundar Prajapati in Sudal, Nagarkot-4 of Bhaktapur on Saturday.

In another case, thieves barged into a house of Manju Giri in Gusitar, Changu Narayan-1 of the district and decamped with valuables worth Rs 600,000 including Rs 2,000 cash and gold ornaments, on Friday.

Meanwhile, another gang of criminals on Friday targeted a house of Dev Raj Shrestha in Dauradipo of Chandragiri Municipality-8 and made off with Rs 40,000 cash, various ornaments of gold and silver, mobile phone and camera. The loss has been estimated at Rs 712,000.

All houses targeted in the three cases were unattended, according to police.

While looking for the suspects, the law enforcers are investigating into the case.
