Three cases of theft in two days

Kathmandu, September 16 :

The police have registered three theft cases in two days in Kathmandu, the Valley Police Office, said today.

A group of unidentified persons stole property worth Rs 245,800 from a shop run by Min Bahadur Gurung at the second floor of the Bhatbhateni Supermarket this morning.

According to thr police, the culprits broke open the lock of the shop and took away 20 mobile phone sets.

At Yangal, a 150-year-old stone-idol was stolen from the premises of the house owned by Raghiji Rajbhandari early this morning. The idol was stolen at around 2 am today, the police said.

The police said a group of three unidentified women stole a bag containing currency worth Rs 18,000 and diamond and golden rings from the shop of Anup Shrestha yesterday evening at Lazimpat. Police said investigations were on to identify and nab the culprits.
