Three fires reported in Valley
KATHMANDU: Police said three cases of fire were reported from different places Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday and Wednesday.
As many as four buses sustained partial damages when an engineering workshop caught fire in Pepsicola, KMC-35 on Tuesday.
While the conductor of a bus (Na 5 Kha 1512) had lit a candle to repair his vehicle, the very candle sparked the fire, according to police.
Later, the fire spread to two other parked vehicles (Na 5 Kha 5428 and Na 4 Kha 5255) as well as two other buses which were being assembled, according to police.
In another case, a carton factory in Bouddha caught fire gutting destroying property worth Rs 10 million.
The Emporium Packaging operated by Sanjay Agrawal had caught fire due to an electronic short circuit yesterday.
Readymade cartons, raw materials of cartons, seven machines and a hut were destroyed, police said.
Meanwhile, an electronic short circuit sparked fire at the house of Chandrakala Chauhan in Gairigaun, Tokha Municipality-15 and destroyed valuables worth Rs 200,000.
Police are looking into all the cases.
