KATHMANDU: Police said three persons who were allegedly involved in drug peddling were arrested in possession of illegal pharmaceutical drugs from different locations of Kathmandu Valley recently.

The Koteshwor-based Narcotic Control Bureau apprehended them in possession of various drugs.

Suraj Prasad Gauchan (57) of Bishalnagar, Pokhara Sub-Metropolitian City-4 was arrested along with the drugs from Maharajgunj, KMC-3, on April 6.

Police said Gauchan was arrested frequently in drug-related cases in previous years.

Last year, he had spent one month in jail and was later released on a bail of Rs 75,000.

Similarly, Uttam Lama (45) of KMC-4 and Pawan Hari Rajbhandari (40) of Tahachal, KMC-13 were arrested.

Police said they have filed a case against them as per the Narcotic Drugs Control Act 1976 and further investigation is underway.
