Three-year project to save one-horned rhinos

Kathmandu:

The Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) and the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) on Tuesday launched a three-year project to save one-horned rhinos.

The NTNC said in a release on Wednesday that the project will comprise anti-poaching activities and surveys by trained technicians, measures to prevent habitat degradation, protection of rhino populations and working with local communities to encourage conservation and discourage poaching activities.

“The project is a concerted effort of multiple partner agencies for saving rhinos.”
