KATHMANDU: Three youth have died while cleaning a well at Paiyuntar of Kapan, Budhanilakantha-19 of Kathmandu on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Ishwor Khadha (24), Kishor Khadka (20) and Bishal Basnet (18).

Ishwor had gone to clean the 45-foot well, but did not return. Later, Kishor and Bishal went to rescue their brother Ishwor, but could not come out, said police.

A team mobilised from the Kapan-based Metropolitan Police Sector had rescued and rushed them to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

The trio, however, died on their way to the health facility, according to police.

Further investigation is underway.
