Time for responding to queries on Appropriation Bill extended

Kathmandu, August 23

The time for ministers to respond to questions raised by lawmakers during discussions on budgetary allocations made to different ministries and bodies under the Appropriation Bill, 2015 has been extended until tomorrow.

The deadline for this purpose had been fixed until today.

Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang informed the Legislature-Parliament about this today.

Although the ministers of 10 different ministries were scheduled to respond to the questions at today’s meeting of the Legislature-Parliament, the discussions were extended and only eight ministers could furnish replies.

The Minister for Law, Justice, Constituent Assembly and Parliamentary Affairs and the Minister for Peace and Reconstruction , who were scheduled to respond to the lawmakers today, will do so tomorrow.

The Appropriation Bill will get the approval of Parliament only on Tuesday after the ministers of all the ministries finish responding to MP’s questions in tomorrow’s meeting of the Legislature-Parliament. The next meeting of the Legislature-Parliament is scheduled for 11:00am tomorrow.
