Trafficking control pact

Kathmandu, July 29:

With the aim of pressuring on the government to ratify the SAARC Convention on Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Women and Children for Prostitution, sixteen organisations submitted a memorandum to the Minister of Women, Children and Social Welfare, Durga Shrestha, yesterday. Stating the Convention will “bring about an atmosphere of coordination between SAARC countries,” Pramada Shah of Saathi said, “The Ministry is working to ratify the Convention.”
