Training for 600 women

Lalitpur, September 5:

Rotary Club of Patan today launched the Women Literacy and Economic Empowerment training through Alphabetisation. The training is being participated by 600 women from three rural VDCs of the district. Chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC), Tirtha Man Shakya, at the inauguration function, said the number of women competing at the PSC is very low in comparison to the male. He also stressed the need to educate Nepali women to increase women literacy rate and empower them. The club also has plans to launch similar training programme in Bara district. The focus of the programme is women empowerment through literacy, said RCP president Gyanu Raj Shakya. Eight rotary clubs of Germany and the RCP jointly funded the training which would cost Rs 2.05 million.
