Light tremor felt in Kathmandu Valley, epicentre in Nuwakot

KATHMANDU: A light tremor hit the Kathmandu Valley and neighbouring districts at around 6:23 pm on Monday evening.

According to the National Seismological Centre, it recorded an aftershock of local magnitude 4.2 in Nuwakot district at that time.

The epicentre, with its coordinates 27.94N, 85.48E, lies in a location between Gaukharka and Ichok of Nuwakot, south-east of the Kathmandu Valley.

With this, according to the NSC records, as many as 358 aftershocks have followed the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25 till date.

Two light aftershocks, one each in Dolakha and Sindhupalchok districts, were recorded yesterday morning.
