Tried to reform Dahal, but failed: Oli
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said on Wednesday that he took the drastic step of dissolving the House of Representatives after his attempt to reform Pushpa Kamal Dahal failed.
Addressing a meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders and cadres of his faction’s Sudurpaschim Provincial Chapter in Kathmandu, Oli said he had entered into a unity deal with Dahal’s party with the sole objective of spurring development and creating political stability, but Dahal and Nepal came together to tilt the majority in their favour and to fulfil their personal interests.
Oli claimed that the day he dissolved the HoR, he commanded 64 per cent support in the HoR and there was no possibility of forming another government.
My decision to dissolve the HoR cannot be termed unconstitutional.
"Mid-term election was declared to bring political stability,” he added.
