KATHMANDU: A man died after a truck hit a scooter he was riding on at Koteshwor in Kathmandu on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as rider Shyam Shrestha (44) of Sindhupalchok, currently residing at Gwarko in Lalitpur.

Critically injured in the incident, Shrestha was rushed to the Civil Service Hospital at New Baneshwor, but breathed his last during the course of treatment.

Police said that the truck (Na 1 Kha 8328) hit the scooter (Ba 51 Pa 1219) last night.

The Metropolitan Police Circe, Baneshwor, has impounded the truck and arrested its driver for investigation.
