TSC examination

BHAKTAPUR: The Teachers’ Service Commission said on Thursday that it is conducting written exam for permanent teachers on Friday and Saturday. Exam for permanent teachers for secondary level will be conducted on Friday and the exam for lower secondary level will be conducted on Saturday. TSC had called applications for permanent teachers at various levels a few months ago. Sudarsan Marahattha, Spokesperson, TSC, said a total of 44,403 applicants are going to appear in the secondary level teachers’ exam in various subjects on Friday and a total of 118,261 applicants are going to attend lower secondary level teachers’ exam on Saturday across the country.

Thief arrested

KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested a man from Gaurighat on charge of committing at least seven thefts in the Kathmandu Valley. Tika Bahadur KC, 32, of Jugu-1, Dolakha, was apprehended by a team of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division which said he had also lifted an idol of archaeological significance from Dolakha last year.

Woman falls to death

KATHMANDU: A woman died after she fell off the second floor of a house at Greenland Chowk in Tokha on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Latasa Karki, 26, of Basundhara. Karki, who was critically injured in the accident, died while being rushed to Grande International Hospital, Dhapasi, according to police.

Held with drugs

KATHMANDU: Police nabbed a man in possession of 33 gram heroin from Maharajgunj on Wednesday. According to the Narcotics Control Bureau, Manish Raj Shrestha, 27, of Ason was held with the narcotic drugs and a digital weighing machine.
