TU employees submit memo to Sherchan

Kathmandu, September 19:

The Tribhuvan University Employees Association (TUEA) today submitted a memorandum to Deputy Prime Minister and coordinator of the minister-level committee Amik Sherchan to look into the demands of employees pushing for the fulfilment of their charter of 11demands. The employees have demanded the immediate appointment of officials at Tribhuvan University. As part of a protest programme, the administration of all the constituent campuses remained closed nationwide after 1 pm today. “The government is delaying the process of appointing Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Rector along with all the key posts in TU affiliated research centers,” said Shambhu Prasad Bhattarai, chairman of the TUEA.

“We are hopeful that the education amended bill will be endorsed tomorrow and if our demands are not met even after that, we will announce decisive protest programmes,” said Bhattarai.
