Two Bhaktapur houses robbed

A group of armed persons yesterday looted goods worth Rs 950,000 from a house at Thimi, Madhyapur Thimi-15. According to the Bhaktapur police, the group armed with khukuris broke into the house of Surendra Bahadur Shrestha around midnight and overpowered the family members. There were six persons in the house at the time. They took away Rs 600,000 in cash and 25 tolas of gold jewellery, police said. “The looters must have had prior information because they located the valuables on their own once inside the house,” police quoted Shrestha as saying. Police believe the looters to be professionals. In another incident yesterday, goods worth Rs 85,000 were stolen from the house of Sharmila Kajesu at Thimi municipality-4, Bhaktapur.
