KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday said that two cases of fires were reported in the Kathmandu Valley.

Properties worth around Rs 140,000 were gutted in a fire at a Hattiban-based shop, run by Sharda Kharel, on Monday. Police said the house belonged to Arjun Banjara.

Likewise, the fire in Grishma Store at KMC-15, run by Pratima Shah, gutted properties worth around Rs 150,000 on Tuesday. Police informed that the fire started after a short circuit destroyed food and fancy items stored in the shop.

Police said that investigation into both the cases is underway.
