Two held with pangolin scales, horns from Thamel
KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested two persons in possession of pangolin scales and six animal horns from Thamel of Kathmandu.
Suraj Shrestha (29) and Raju Tamang (32) from Jorpati, Gokarneshwor were arrested from Hotel Holy Temple, Thamel, by a team deployed from the Lainchaur-based Metropolitan Police Circle yesterday.
Earlier, police were tipped off about their illegal activity and the fact that they were staying at the hotel.
Police said they confiscated 180 gram pangolin scales, two krishnasar (blackbuck) horns and four horns of other wild animals from their possession.
Police handed over the suspects to the District Forests Office for further investigation.
