KATHMANDU: Two persons who were on the run after stealing items were arrested by the Metropolitan Police Sector Swayambu on Wednesday, police said.

Police identified the suspects as Bir Bahadur Shrestha (33) and Dawa Tamang (26) of Sailung-2 in Dolakha district.

The duo had barged into the house of Nawaraj Adhikari in Nagarjun Municipality-1, by breaking main door padlock, according to police.

They decamped with gold necklace, laptop, gold ear top among others items. Police seized all the theft items and equipments' used to break door padlocks from the duo.

Meanwhile, police with the help of locals apprehended them while running away with the theft items.

Police said further investigation is underway.
