Two theft cases reported in Kathmandu Valley
KATHMANDU: Police on Monday reported two cases of theft from different locations in Kathmandu Valley that occurred on Sunday.
Property worth around Rs 550,000 were stolen from a house in Tarkeshwor Municipality-6 of Kathmandu district on Sunday.
According to police, an unidentified gang broke the padlock of the main door of a house belonging to Rajendra Prasad Timilsina at Dharmasthali and made off with properties including gold jewellery worth Rs 50,000.
Likewise, an unidentified gang broke into the house of Krishna Prasad Katuwal at Helmet Danda in Changunarayan Municipality-7 of Bhaktapur and decamped with properties worth Rs 191,000 on Sunday.
The gang had broken the window grill, entered the unattended house and made off with properties including gold jewellery worth Rs 45,000.
Meanwhile, local police are investigating the cases and searching for the absconding perpetrators, said police.
