Two theft cases reported in Lalitpur

KATHMANDU: Police said property worth Rs 117,000 was stolen in two theft cases in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

An unidentified gang entered an unguarded mobile phone shop at Kalopul, in Sanepa of Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City, by breaking the shutter padlocks. The thieves then decamped with 20 sets of mobile of various brands and a laptop, collectively worth Rs 76,000.

Similarly, a gang of thieves barged into the Jaybhairav Brick Kiln in Bungamati of Karyabinayak Municipality-12 in Lalitpur last night by breaking the padlocks and decamped with a gas cylinder, a water pump and other items before fleeing the scene.

Police said they have launched separate manhunts to nab the absconding thieves and are looking into the cases.
