Two thefts in city

KATHMANDU: Police reported two incidents of theft in Kathmandu on Friday.

An unidentified gang of thieves barged into the room rented by Ambar Manandhar (44) in Yangal, KMC-23 while it was unattended yesterday and made off with three tola gold ornaments and Rs 20,000 cash, collectively worth Rs 170,000, police said.

In a similar case, a room rented by Kiran Basu Subedi (45) in Narephant, KMC-35, was also burgled yesterday.

While the tenant was asleep, the thieves broke into the room and took away goods worth Rs 193,000 including a laptop, a tablet, a camera, an iPhone and Rs 2,500 cash, police said.

While looking for suspects of the cases, police are investigating.
